Amidst the controversy, leading drug manufacturer AstraZeneca has started withdrawing its corona vaccine. The company has said that it is withdrawing its corona vaccine Vaxjaveria from the European Union countries. According to the Telegraph report, the process of withdrawing the vaccine will be started in Britain and other countries in the coming days. The company has taken this decision then,

When last February he admitted in the British court that he had a serious illness due to the vaccine. Although AstraZeneca has cited commercial reasons as the reason behind withdrawing the vaccine, in Britain the company is facing serious allegations regarding the vaccine. In India too, crores of people have received the AstraZeneca vaccine. The matter regarding the vaccine has reached the Supreme Court of India.

Explaining the reason for withdrawing the vaccine, AstraZeneca said, the decision was taken because there are now a variety of new vaccines available that have been designed to target COVID-19 variants. It said the vaccine is no longer being manufactured or supplied, having been replaced by updated vaccines that tackle new variants. Although the company is calling the withdrawal of the vaccine amid controversy a mere coincidence, its corona vaccine has been under intense scrutiny in recent months due to a rare side effect.
