Mango Juice Material

  • 2-3 ripe mangoes (Alphonso, Kesar or any sweet-juicy mango)
  • Sugar or jaggery to taste (depending on the sweetness of the mango)
  • A pinch of cardamom powder
  • a few strands of saffron
  • Milk or water
  • Chopped dry fruits for garnishing

Method of making

  • First of all wash the mangoes thoroughly. Then peel them and cut the pulp into pieces and remove the seeds.
  • Now put the mango pieces in a blender or food processor.
  • Then taste the mangoes and if they are not sweet enough, add sugar or jaggery as per your taste.
  • After this, if you want, add a pinch of cardamom powder and a few strands of saffron.
  • Now blend the mangoes and other ingredients until you get a smooth, lump-free puree.
  • If the aamras is too thick, you can add some milk or water to get your desired consistency.
  • Pour the prepared aamras into a bowl or container and cover it. Then refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to an hour. Aamras tastes best when chilled.
  • Pour the chilled aam ras into individual bowls and garnish with chopped nuts.
